Dental implants are a modern solution for replacing one or more missing teeth. Implants replace the tooth and its root in order to restore resilience, strength, support, and stability to the mouth and jaw. Dental implants are placed surgically to the upper or lower jawbone of your mouth. When placed, an implant will look and feel just like a natural tooth, effectively restoring and enhancing the beauty and function of your smile.
Dental implants can:
◾Replace missing teeth without causing any problems with any nearby teeth
◾Enhance or restore your facial tissues
◾Resolve bite problems or joint pain caused by shifting teeth
◾Restore your ability to chew, digest, and speak
◾Lend security and comfort to a denture or bridge
◾Enhance the beauty of your smile
Dental Implant Procedure
The process of receiving dental implants usually requires multiple visits to our dental practice spanning several months. During these visits you may expect to receive dental X-rays, impressions (molds), placement of the dental implant post and anchor, and the fitting and attachment of crowns, or artificial teeth.
During the procedures, your mouth will be numbed using local anesthetics to make your experience as comfortable as possible. Between the procedures, your mouth will have adequate time to heal to ensure that your implant is securely attached and that your mouth is completely comfortable once the process is complete.
